new shoes...eek!

I am so in love with my new shoes already... and they just got here today... their only downfall, which isn't really a downfall in the long run, is that they are closed toe, and it is deathly hot right now which means they may have to sit on the bench for another month or two... bummer.
Oh, and in case you are curious, I got them here... on a major steal of a sale!!
woh, and just posting in that link I realize they've gone up 15$$!!! I really did get a great deal, that's the crazy thing about sierra is the prices move almost every week... anyhow, I got them for 35$ and then the next day I got an email saying that for one day only you could get an extra 20% off of any shoe order, go figure! oh well, still got a great deal, especially since I've been drooling over these babies for awhile.
love you all, g'night!

24 weeks

or somewhere around there... I am terrible with dates and numbers and such... I know when I went in for my big ultrasound I was about 21.5 weeks, but I can't remember when that was exactly. Anyhow, I haven't taken a good belly picture in awhile, so here she be, the bebe belly in all it's glory!!

**edited using the "1960's" effect from picnik, love that place!! don't you love the rounded corners and everything!?**

And the results are in...

Our baby will be the perfect little hippie!!

my love for picnik... must share!!

Okay, so erin over at bluebirdbaby did a post about this awesome, free, online photo editing program a little while ago... I didn't think i'd be into it since I know how to use photoshop and can edit things myself... but I have to admit, there is some sort of fabulous thrill you can get from having your photo edited in one step and changed all funky and such... anyhow, the site is picnik.com and I love it!! I am in love with the Lomo effect option...

The before picture::

The after picture::

All with one click!! Fun! Love it! Okay, that's all, just had to share the love, I thought you'd like this one Megs...

My First Diaper Cover!!

A few months ago I bought this pattern online to make diaper covers. I was going to make some right away but then decided to wait and see whether it was a girl or a boy seeing as how I love girly fabrics and would love to have girly diapers... although I should try and remember that I made need to use these for a boy one day so I suppose I should make some that are a bit more gender neutral than this one...hmm...
anyhow, I made my first one this weekend... It was a bit of a struggle getting used to the fold over elastic around the edges and in the end I don't think I pulled it quite enough while stitching, but the first one never works out just right, now does it?

My sister Jes made me this adorable little elephant for Christmas last year... little did she know I'd be having a baby this year... isn't he the cutest little model? He actually models all of my handmade baby stuff, yes, it is true, embarrassing I know!

Like my new label tags? Got those made by this gal... love them!

isn't it just sooo cute? I can't wait to make another one... I just washed this one to see if the elastic would shrink at all, it did a little but not enough to make a huge difference, so I think on my next one I need to make the leg areas a little bit tighter.

Yay, I love it!! I love making baby clothes, they're just so small and cute!!

Tie-Dye Love (post#3)

The untying process was quite a challenge and took quite a bit longer than expected... but the outcome was well worth the sore fingers and hands from all the squeezing and ringing out.

The results looked so beautiful lying on my kitchen floor on a shower curtain liner...such vibrant colors!!

The next step was a good thorough washing, actually I washed the whole load a total of three times, I wanted to make sure the dye was good and set and not going anywhere!

Oh isn't it beautiful??? This rack is in my living room right now and I can't stop looking at all of the beautiful colors!!

Some of them didn't come out as planned or hoped but there are more than enough to make up for that!! I love them all! My cute bebe will be dressed in tie-dyed diapers and onesies every day of the week!!

Yay!! Thanks for sharing in the fun! This week sometime I also need to get some tub-dyeing done, I still have quite a few more prefolds that need a little color added to their lives... should be fun!

Tie-Dye Love (post#2)

So here is the set of dyes all messy in my sink... I mixed up the dyes in separate bowls and then poured them into makeshift applicators, ie: water bottles with holes drilled in the plastic caps and dollar store ketchup and mustard bottles, nice!

Yay, they're all dyed up and in individual plastic bags keeping the dye from spreading but keeping each piece nice and moist... now to let them "cure"for a good 24 hours, man I am so impatient!!

this is my sink after the lovely project...

even though I don't love bleach, thank heavens for it during times of dye messes... and now my landlord will never know what went on here!

Tie-Dye Love (post#1)

The "pre-dye" load of prefolds... some will get tie-dyed and the rest will get dyed solid colors later this week, so stay tuned for that fun escapade as well!

This is the wetting stage before I tied 'em all up in fancy little shapes... I guess if you wet them first the the designs are more pronounced, something like that...

And here is the group all tied up in crazy little twists, spirals, knots, bunches, and well, just about any way you can imagine tying something up as I quickly got bored of the typical ties!

And here I am, looking stunning as usual, in my mask... trying not to inhale the chemicals in all the different random things... the instructions say to wear a mask and I am very obedient so I did... for at least half the time anyways, til it started to hurt my nose!

My Love is Famous!!

At least in our neck of the woods!!
Jordan's name is on the front page of today's paper!!

Jordan's senior project this last year was working on this PACE team where they basically from start to finish built a formula race car, full size! The project is all about collaborative engineering so they work with tons of schools from all over the world. BYU is the headquarters of the project, which is convenient since we have so many guys who have served foreign speaking languages, so they have quite the mix of students that can communicate with all the other schools.

Jordan went down to Mexico to meet with several different schools back in February regarding the project. It's been a pretty sweet year, and he's learned a ton. I guess the hardest work has been this summer as they've been building it. This next Tuesday they head out to show the car off out in Detroit at a big convention, it'll be awesome!!

He's working overtime all this week to get it done by then but I am sure in a few weeks I will have some awesome shots of the actual car, it's going to look amazing!!

Good luck in Detroit babe!!

Ah... My Studio Corner has been Bombed!!

Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration, but seriously... it's a mess! I've been working on a project for work that has to be done before I leave for Chicago tomorrow, so needless to say the past couple nights have been me in there frantically working from 6pm until midnight, woh! No wonder it's a mess, and probably won't be cleaned up until I get home on Monday...

(I blurred out of the shot any of the new Fall product so you wouldn't get a sneak peek and get me fired!!)

Did I mention I'm headed to Chicago this weekend? Yay! I am headed to the fabulous CHA tradeshow, rock on! It should be fabulous, I am flyin' solo this time but I think I can still maneuver the windy city... it helps that I made my hotel reservation for the hotel connected to the convention center, sweet, one less headache!

and the winners are...

so we all made our little guess and here were our results:

and then here is a scrapbook page to show how excited I was to know if we were having a boy or a girl... let me just say, I'd been looking forward to this day for a while!!

and here is a page showing how excited I was about the news... the minute I walked in the door after work I went straight to my desk and started crankin' this baby out!!

We are having....

...

...

...

it's a girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

those of you that guessed girl, myself not included(!!), were right!!

and here, of course, are some adoooorable pictures of our cute little sweetie... she was hammin' it up on the screen, quite the little poser... and check out that super cute little foot with it's little toes!? Soooo cute!
(by the way, I haven't had a chance to scan these yet, so these aren't great shots, just took them with our digi camera of the little print out sheets...)

and then Jordo isn't a big fan of this one, but I think it's cute! This is our shot where they were able to point out for us that she is indeed a little baby girl...

so that's it! We have a little bebe girl on her way and we are sooooooo excited about her! She's squirmin' around inside me right now so I think she must know I'm posting about her!

love you all, thanks for sharing in our exciting news with us, take care!!
