blossoming spring

Blossoms... Their beauty is not worth the horrible pain they will bring. These blossoms bloomed just this last week, overnight almost. I can already feel my throat and nose closing up and getting ready for the adventure of the oh-so-loved... allergies. Last year was my first allergy experience. Must be because it was my first year living anywhere but Alaska for the blooming season. I don't know how it'll go over this year but I am not looking forward to it. They may be beautiful, all of the blossoms on all of the trees everywhere you look. But I can't help but hate them because they are a dark and looming fate just waiting to attack. Any minute now. Any minute.

Mary Jane Butters. She is awe-inspiring. A hero in my eyes. She lives life as though we are all a part of the earth, inspiring others to live simply, in a sustainable way. I only wish I could be like her. But seeing as how I am far from a green thumb, I just like to look at her life book, (which I am getting for my birthday from my husband!) and wish I was that cool. Some of us are, and some of us try. I am the latter. But every small step counts, and I suppose making the homemade marshmallows she has in her life book has to be some sort of a start, right?? I really am going to make them because they just sound way too good, so I'll let you know how they go...
