for the love of sweater pants and a happy bench monday to you all...

so I think I have a problem. I cannot help but make pair after pair after pair of sweater pants for little M. Poor girl has at least 7 or 8 pair and the best part is they are made out of old sweaters, so great!

my sister Megs and I were talking the other day about the greatness of these sweater pants and how we wished there were deliciously warm sweater pants for adults because hey, how come the little ones get all the goodness?

and so... I did it. :)

I took all of the scraps from the sweaters I had used to make her pants and I made myself some wool legging pants!!! I LOVE them! I have been wearing them pretty much since I made them last night and they are warm and cozy and fabulous.

They're a little bright, but hey, most of you probably know by now I love random crazy colors so they fit in perfectly with my wardrobe. The first thing Jordo said to me was, so... are those the kind of pants you plan on wearing out in public? :) But he also said he liked them even more than my patchwork corduroy pants, which I love, so hey! Maybe I am on to something!

Oh and happy bench monday... love you all!

OK< I really do love them and they are totally you!! i think if you were still living at home I would have to keep a closer watch on my sweaters for fear they would end up on your legs. :-).........the little giraffe has a good home now. I'm glad Mckinley still likes it. i was worried since she was older now then when she 1st fell in love with it.

i think you've come pretty close to our mutual desire for leg warmers, but you took it one step further. they do look irresistibly cozy... nate would surely not let me out of the house with them :) good luck!

THOSE ARE AWESOME! (I'm sorry I haven't posted earlier, I had trouble with the video when I tried to watch it before.) Anyways, way to go Kates! Here I just had this distant wish to someday have some sweater pants, and look at you, you just go right ahead and make them! :) I love it! They're so cute, seriously. Do you have a cute skirt you could wear over them? They'd be perfect for skirt wearing in the winter, and it would just look like you had cool leg warmers underneath. Or think how awesome they'd be under snowpants for skiing and sledding! (And if you save them until you're an old lady, you can wear them as a breathable cloth diaper cover!) :o)

OK, can I PLEASE get the pattern or instructions or something (possibly a vlog tutorial?) on how to make these ADORABLE baby sweater pants? I have a few old sweaters I was about to donate, but now I want to reuse a couple of them instead. Pretty pretty please with a cherry on top show/tell me how to make sweater pants for my own baby!! By the way, your sweater pants DO look amazingly warm and comfy. I may make my own with leftover scraps :-) If I get the motivation (and time) to do that, I'll send you pictures.
