(Japanese Moss Balls) like their cousins bonsai, are designed to be appreciated for their beauty and for the pleasant effort involved in the growing process.
Traditionally displayed sitting on driftwood or handmade pottery, they also look magical bound up by string and hanging. Kokedama are lovingly made with a 4 part soil mix, covered in sphagnum moss and bound by natural or coloured twine.
Hang inside in a well-lit area out of direct sunlight and mist their delicate leaves often during the warmer months. Submerge in a bucket of water until the bubbles stop (2 mins) OR place in a shallow bowl of water to soak like a sponge (20 mins) once a week during summer and less often during the colder months, ensuring the ball is dry between watering.
Orders can be made for specific plants and colours. If you have a plant in mind that is not featured, we’re happy to be adventurous. Indoor or shade loving plants fare better as the sun dries them out too quickly.
